Box Stock Rules
Box stock class is intended to be a fun entry into Tamiya Mini 4WD racing.

USABLE MACHINE TYPES

Only Mini 4WD REV, Mini 4WD PRO, Racing Mini 4WD, Super Mini 4WD, Fully-Cowled Mini 4WD, Aero Mini 4WD, Mighty Mini 4WD, R/C Mini 4WD, and Truckin’ Mini 4WD machines are permitted. Further restrictions on machine types may be possible depending on the race event or race class.

Please note: Starter Packs, such as 18706 Aero Avante Speed Spec Starter Pack, and special chassis kits like VS Evo 1 & Azente are not eligible for box stock class.

 

MACHINE ASSEMBLY

Machines must be assembled as per the kits instructions, and must only use parts included in the kits.

It is recommended to bring your original box and instructions in case of any disputes.

Bodies

1. The body supplied in your kit must be used with your machine.

2. Racers may choose not to install all body parts.

3. Modifications, cutting or drilling of the body is not allowed.

4. Application of at least two decals are required.

5. Paint is optional.

 

MOTOR

1. A standard SMC or Mabuchi silver motor with white end bell must be used.

2. In the case of Animal GT Racers, the machines may be used if the motor is swapped out to use a standard motor.

3. Tuning or modification of the motor is strictly prohibited.

 

BATTERIES

Any brand R6/AA/UM3 batteries are permitted. If the battery appears to be damaged in any way, they will not be accepted for safety reasons. 

 

MODIFICATIONS

1. All chassis modifications are prohibited.

2. Machines must use gear ratios that are included in the box.

3. Modification, sanding, changing the material properties of the tire surface (including, but not limited to, applying glue or other substances to the tire surface) are prohibited.

4. Shimming (usage spacers/washers to improve transmission or roller performance) is not allowed.

5. Use of option parts is not allowed, for example rollers, bearings, FRP & carbon plates.

6. Black re-enforced pinion gears are allowed in place of standard purple pinion gears.

7. Replacement of bent/damaged axels and shafts is allowed, however, they must be replaced with either the AO spare part or the exact same part from another kit.

8. Any type of Tamiya Mini 4WD grease may be used on gears & roller screws.
